GETTING HERE
ARRIVING AT CANCUN AIRPORT
Car Rental is recommended. There are many options. Discover Cars is a third party website with car rental options.
Transfers. There are many options. USA, and Canada Transfers have been recommended by many.
ADO buses. I have no experience with this option
CANCUN TO CONDO APPROX. 1 1/2 HRS.
TAO Bahia Residence gate is approx. 2 km past Akumal.
There are signs so watch for them! This is where you will need a QR code
received by email. This is the Bahia Principe residents gate.
Once past the gate, travel till the first intersection where you will take a right.
After a short ride the Tao gate will be on your right.
Here is the second gate where you will need a QR code. My property manager, Darren from Diamond Property Management, or myself will send you that QR code to your whatsapp. It's free to use and make phone calls and it is what everyone uses in Mexico.
WHAT I NEED TO GET YOU YOUR QR CODE. Name, phone number, email addy, car make, model, color and plate number. If using a transfer, I will need company info.
These are the building markers. Follow the Camino de Tao around the loop and TSE will be on your right.

The condo comes with your general supplies to get you started.
Dish soap, starter laundry, starter shampoo and conditioner, TP.
Kitchen is equipped with dishes, pots and pans, storage containers, cutting board, coffee maker, espresso maker, toaster, blender, etc.
Also some spices, oil, salt and pepper etc.
GETTING YOUR OWN SUPPLIES
There are many options for buying your groceries, liquor, etc. on the way.
My favorite is CHEDRAUI in Puerto Adventures. Its right off the road and 15 minutes from Condo.
Also Akumal Pueblo and Beach side have a cute little General Store that has a pretty good stock.
LIQUOR IS NOT SOLD AFTER 5PM ON SUNDAYS AT STORES!!!!!!

We had a wonderful time at Sam's place. It is a beautiful condo in a quiet setting on the golf course. The residential complex is impressive with nice roads, an awesome pool and beautifully manicured gardens, trees and shrubbery. The condo is centrally located, so it's a short drive south to Tulum or north to Playa Del Carmen. We have our own place just up the road in the Sirenis complex, but had renters at the time so it was a great alternative for us to stay in the Akumal area.

Sam is a wonderful host. Her responses were quick and comprehensive; and she gave some great recommendations. The place is also wonderful. Check in was easy, and the everything was spotless. It’s situated right on the golf course. Even if you don’t play, you can walk the course after hours (which I would recommend since it’s so pretty). The location is very convenient. You’ll want to rent a car (the grounds are huge), but it’s probably feasible to go without. Quick drives to the beach, restaurants, cenotes, and convenience stores. The grocery store is about 20 minutes away. Playa del Carmen is about 40 minutes. Tulum is about 30 minutes. But we found Akumal to be our favorite. It’s smaller and less crowded than the bigger cities, but still has excellent restaurants and a great beach. Five stars all around!

This place is so gorgeous. Sam is an incredible host who is super caring. Tao is very safe and walkable. The suite is right on the golf course for golf lovers. They also come and mow and spray at 5am so be prepared for early mornings. Other than that, it was a lovely stay! Highly recommend:)

My husband and I stayed at Sam’s place for a month and had such an amazing time! The apartment is beautiful, the bed is super comfortable and the community itself is wonderful. And the coffee maker was the best one you will find in an airbnb or even better than the one you have at home lol. We really enjoyed the gym and the pool and everyone we met was so nice. Sam was a wonderful host and was so fast to respond and get us anything we needed. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it!

Beautiful, peaceful, and perhaps the best equipped Airbnb I’ve yet to stay in, this condo is an absolute gem with thoughtful touches throughout. Sam was quick to provide thorough and kind communication + support during my extended stay despite my unexpected/changing circumstances. Highly, highly recommend!

This was a gorgeous retreat of a stay just 10 mins away from Akumal Beach. We were staying in a busy all inclusive and were so unholy with the crowds and quality that we needed a retreat to feel like we are really on a relaxing holiday. We found Sam’s apartment and it was like a zen experience with a gorgeous peaceful apartment. You need a car to enjoy because we drove to the property and used that as home base while we drove around to different areas. Plenty of parking and easy gated access. So so secure. We took the suggestion to eat lunch at the Kay beach club a and enjoy the atmosphere there. Get there early if you want a nice lounge chair set before they are snagged up at Kay! It was right across the highway but there is a dedicated overpass bridge to get there from Sam’s complex. The name of the complex area is Tao and that was so appropriate. From the jungle atmosphere we saw iguanas and gorgeous greenery. There is a path with a relaxing fountain and a pool at the end of the path that is so nice and refreshing. The apartment itself is spotless. There was relaxing music as we entered, everything is brand new, the patio is next to the gold course but private with foliage. We loved there kitchen to cook our own meals but BUY YOUE GROCERIES AT CHEDRAUI before making it to the apartment because the closest one is 20 mins away in either direction. We spent a gorgeous day at the Yal-Ku lagoon. RECOMMEND THIS 100 %. Go the the second company (second entrance) so you can get a palapa. Tulum is so close we went for an evening coffee there and the next day headed the other direction to Xcaret. It is right between playa Del Carmen and Tulum so very well situated. The apartment was decorated so tastefully. We just loved how modern and new everything was. And then there was the wellness center. A wonderful retreat center with yoga class at 8 am, a very well equipped gym for you body builders, and lap pools! Just note this is closed on Sunday and maybe Sat so prep for weekdays there. Sam communicated so well. We were her first air bnb ers so want to encourage everyone to go!!! Easy access with lockbox and key next to the front door. The bed was comfortable and bathroom was perfect. We loved the laundry room. Okay all in all….it is a great home base. Not on the beach but they’re are plenty of beach clubs and beaches and you cannot beat the great value. Thank you Sam!

Sam’s condo is beautiful, peaceful and in a wonderful and serene location. She even helped coordinate a nice surprise for my Wife’s Birthday upon our arrival. Sam is wonderful to communicate with, super timely and gave so many wonderful suggestions! If you’re looking to visit the Akumal/Tulum area and have the convenience of staying in and cooking from the condo she has pretty much everything you could ask for. I will note that the oven needs to be lit with the pilot lighter provided (this was not a problem for me). She also provides a water filter stand to stay hydrated with both cold and hot clean water on demand. The condo and it’s location are extremely quiet. We did not experience any noisy neighbors or hear anyone outside except for some birds in the morning- I would hope so as were in a jungle like setting. The condo is so very clean and we did not experience any bugs in the condo. There is a nice relaxing pool within 1-2 minutes down the path. It took us a few days to get the lay of the general Tulum Country Club area. The condo is in a residential area that is one of many others in the overarching Tulum Country Club. This is actually an official PGA golf course that intersected and spanned across all different residential areas. We don’t play golf but met many vacationers that seemed to enjoy that feature and were staying on the grounds for months at a time. All of the people that worked there including the gentleman guarding the gated communities were so pleasant and polite. Speaking Spanish is helpful but I feel if we didn’t speak any at all we would have been fine. There are many amenities on the Country Club grounds that we didn’t take advantage of as we were out and about doing Airbnb Experiences. We did find that there is a bridge you can drive over the main 307 highway to have direct Beach Access to the Kay Beach Club or others and many restaurants. We had a rental car (which I recommend), but if you didn’t, you’d be fine staying in the general Tulum county club area and would have plenty to keep you busy and entertained. We found there are Trolly like shuttles that drive people all over the different areas including the Tao Wellness Center, Spas and different restaurants. It should also be noted that the Coba Premier Hotel on the grounds of the Tulum Country Club offered Covid-19 testing for guests. We went for testing around 3pm 2 days prior to our departure which they told us was the best time as the morning hours are very busy. The total cost for both of us was only $36 USD and we received our results verbally and via email within 20 minutes. If you’re returning to the US (like us) I’d make sure that you arrive to the Airport 4 hours in advance of your flight. This might be because it was Thanksgiving time for us but better to be safe than sorry. When we visit Mexico again, I’d absolutely love to stay in Sam’s condo again and would recommend it to anyone looking to stay in the area as well. 5 stars in all directions. Thanks Sam!
